Know before you go

Dress modestly with shoulders and knees covered; sarongs may be required. The prang steps are very steep and not suitable for those with mobility issues. Visit at sunset for the best photos. Costume rental shops nearby offer Thai outfits for hire.

How to reach

Take the Chao Phraya Express Boat to Tha Tien Pier (N8), then a short cross-river ferry to Wat Arun pier. Alternatively, the MRT Blue Line to Sanam Chai station puts you a short walk from the Tha Tien ferry crossing.
