Overview

Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization is a major cultural museum located on Sharjah's waterfront in the Al Majarrah area. The museum houses more than 5,000 historical artefacts and presents Islamic civilization through seven galleries spread across two levels. Its collections cover Islamic faith, science, astronomy, arts and crafts, manuscripts, ceramics, textiles, jewellery and coins. Visitors can also see important objects such as the gold-embroidered curtain associated with the door of the Holy Ka'ba and the distinctive zodiac-themed mosaic beneath the central dome.
