The Dubai e-visa is the modern replacement for the old embassy sticker. There are five tourist-visa types most travellers actually use. The 14-day single-entry suits a long weekend. The 30-day single- or multi-entry covers the typical holiday and is what most TVO Tourism applicants pick. The 60- and 90-day visas are for longer stays or family visits, and are extendable inside the UAE. The 96-hour and 48-hour transit visas exist for travellers connecting through DXB on a layover too long for the airport sterile zone. Single-entry is cheapest; multi-entry costs more but lets you exit and re-enter inside the validity window without paying twice.
